Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, registering on, or using the OutRenz platform, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service, along with our Privacy Policy and any other policies published on the platform. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately. Continued use after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Nature of Platform

OutRenz operates as a clothing rental marketplace that facilitates listings, centralized inspection, logistics coordination, and rental transactions between Listers (item owners) and Renters (item borrowers).

OutRenz does not manufacture or own the listed items, and does not guarantee the fit, style compatibility, or suitability of any item for a specific occasion. OutRenz reserves the right to remove any listing at any time without prior notice if it violates platform policies or applicable law.

3. Listing Obligations

Listers must provide accurate descriptions, real images, and full disclosure of any defects. Items must be professionally cleaned and delivered to OutRenz's designated facility at least two (2) business days before the confirmed rental start date.

OutRenz reserves the absolute right to inspect all items upon receipt and to reject any item that does not meet platform quality standards. Such rejection shall not entitle the Lister to any compensation.

4. Delivery & Collection

Renters must collect or accept delivery of items as per the agreed rental schedule. Items must be returned to OutRenz by the agreed return date and time, in the same condition as received.

Late returns shall incur an additional per-day charge as determined by OutRenz. Renters must not attempt to clean, alter, or repair the item before returning it.

5. Security Deposit

A mandatory security deposit is required from Renters prior to each rental. Failure to pay the deposit by the stipulated deadline shall result in automatic cancellation of the booking.

Where no deductions apply, the deposit shall be refunded within 5–7 business days of item return and post-return inspection clearance. OutRenz may deduct from the deposit to cover damage, loss, theft, late return penalties, or cleaning costs. OutRenz's assessment and deduction determination shall be final and binding.

6. Damage, Loss & Theft

Renters bear full responsibility for the safekeeping and condition of all rented items throughout the rental period. Minor damage costs shall be deducted from the security deposit; irreparable damage makes the Renter liable for the full replacement value as determined by OutRenz.

In the event of theft or loss, the Renter must notify OutRenz immediately and file a police FIR within 24 hours. OutRenz reserves the right to initiate civil recovery proceedings and/or refer the matter to law enforcement.

7. Fit & Style Satisfaction

In the event that a rented item does not fit as expected, the item may be returned to OutRenz. However, no refund of the rental fee or delivery charges shall be issued in such cases. It is the Renter's responsibility to review all measurements and size guides prior to booking.

8. Refund & Cancellation

Before dispatch: If the Renter cancels before the item has been dispatched by OutRenz, a full refund of the rental amount shall be issued with no deductions of any kind.

After dispatch: If the Renter cancels after the item has been dispatched, the rental amount shall be refunded after deducting the applicable platform fees only. No other amounts shall be withheld.

If a Lister cancels a confirmed booking or fails to deliver on time, the Renter shall receive a full refund. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 business days.

9. Hygiene Policy

Listers must ensure items are professionally laundered before submission. OutRenz performs a mandatory two-step professional cleaning and sanitisation process on all items prior to dispatch.

Renters must not launder the item themselves and must return it unwashed. Where the Renter has caused significant soiling beyond normal use, a cleaning surcharge may be applied.

10. Proof of Condition

Listers must provide clear, timestamped photographs of the item before delivery to OutRenz. Renters should inspect the item at the time of collection and raise any concerns within 2 hours of receipt.

In the event of any dispute regarding item condition, OutRenz's internal inspection records and photographic documentation shall be the authoritative reference.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to create false or fraudulent listings; upload misrepresentative images; conduct transactions outside the OutRenz platform; engage in payment fraud; harass other users or OutRenz staff; list counterfeit or stolen items; or violate any applicable law.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination, forfeiture of pending payments or deposits, and civil or criminal legal action.

12. Limitation of Liability

OutRenz shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; event-related losses; disputes between users; or damage caused by third-party logistics providers.

OutRenz's total aggregate liability arising from a specific rental transaction shall not exceed the total rental amount paid by the User for that transaction.

13. Dispute Resolution

All disputes must first be submitted to OutRenz's internal resolution process within 7 days of the event giving rise to the dispute. OutRenz shall issue a written determination within 10 business days.

If unsatisfied, either party may request mediation before an independent mediator in Pune, Maharashtra. Unresolved disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pune, Maharashtra, under the laws of the Republic of India.

14. Modifications

OutRenz reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Where modifications are material, OutRenz shall provide reasonable advance notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Additional Terms & Conditions (Updates)

15.1 Rental Start Date

  • Same-day rentals are not permitted.
  • The earliest rental start date must be at least one day after the booking date.

15.2 Item Condition Declaration

  • While listing an item, the lister must accurately declare its condition.
  • The lister confirms that the item details, photographs, brand information, and condition are truthful and complete.
  • OutRenz reserves the right to inspect every item before approving it for rental.

15.3 Inspection & False Declarations

  • If OutRenz finds any undeclared defects, including but not limited to tears, loose stitching, stains, discoloration, misleading photographs, incorrect sizing, or counterfeit/branded replicas, the listing may be rejected.
  • A Quality Violation Penalty of ₹100 may be charged.
  • Where applicable, the lister shall bear any delivery costs incurred due to the rejected listing.
  • Repeated violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account restrictions.

15.4 Renter Cancellation Policy

By cancelling a confirmed booking, the renter agrees to the following:

More than 24 hours before the rental start:
  • Platform fee is non-refundable.
  • No additional inconvenience fee applies.
Within 24 hours before the rental start:
  • Platform fee is non-refundable.
  • An inconvenience fee of 10% of the rental amount (minimum ₹40) will be charged.
On the rental start date (before pickup begins):
  • Platform fee is non-refundable.
  • An inconvenience fee of 15% of the rental amount will be charged.
After pickup has started or been completed:
  • Platform fee is non-refundable.
  • An inconvenience fee of 10% of the rental amount will be charged.
  • Any applicable delivery charges already incurred will also be deducted.

15.5 Refunds

  • Eligible refunds will be processed after deducting applicable platform fees, inconvenience fees, delivery charges (where applicable), and any other charges permitted under these Terms.
  • Refunds may be credited to the original payment method or the user's OutRenz Wallet, as determined by OutRenz.

15.6 Account Warnings & Suspension

  • Users who repeatedly violate OutRenz policies may receive account warnings.
  • Accumulation of multiple policy violations may result in temporary or permanent suspension of the account at OutRenz's discretion.

15.7 Pricing & Commission Policy

  • OutRenz Commission: OutRenz charges a commission of 23% of the rental value on each transaction.
  • Platform Fee: Renters are charged a platform fee calculated as 7.5% of the rental value, subject to a minimum of ₹39 and a maximum of ₹209.
